Partnership and collaboration can be complicated, but Rachel spends each day helping to create solutions so that funders, community organizations, and government entities can work together and have a greater positive impact on the lives of youth. She loves solving administrative problems that often block collaborative efforts and creating new ways of working that make things easier and more efficient for everyone. As a former nonprofit executive director, she knows first hand how challenging the work can be and she is committed to uplifting the community organizations who work so hard to improve the lives of youth and ensuring that nonprofits are respected and supported.

What is a "life motto" that you live by OR a phrase/motivational quote that inspires you?

I love Theodore Roosevelt's "Man in the Arena" quote because it celebrates the people who try, but sometimes fall short. It's easy to criticize from the sidelines. What really counts is the person who is "actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat."
