TRUST 1 Youth Engagement Squad

TRUST 1 Yes Squad

TRUST 1 is a healthy relationship skill-building program for justice-involved youth living in Sacramento, Placer, and Yolo county between the ages of 12-18. Justice-involved youth are youth who have been on the punitive side of our justice system on some level. This program uses an evidence-based curriculum proven to foster relationships among youth with trusted adults and reduce the risk of teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Alumni of our programs are eligible for our Youth Engagement Squad (Y.E.S. Squad). This multimedia project engages youth in creative expression about their experience with their communities. Both TRUST 1 and the Youth Engagement Squad are rewarded with gift cards among other incentives for their completion.

Program Goals

The goal of this program is to reach 625 youth each year to enhance personal development, critical thinking skills, and education surrounding interpersonal relationships while reducing rates of teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Youth Engagement Squad aims to empower the youth’s voice in their own community.
