Our summer offerings give youth a chance to expand their knowledge through hands-on learning and enrichment opportunities over the summer months.

Summer 2018 Opportunities



SUMMER @ CITY HALL

Summer @ City Hall is a two-part program that allows students to get hands on experience working in local government.  Through this experience students will gain professional development skills, learn about local government, develop connections with city leaders and have a better understanding of how they can make a difference in their community.

Opportunities are available for Rancho Cordova residents ages 13 to 18.  No experience necessary!

SUMMER SEMINAR

What:
Connect with local leaders and make a difference in your community.  Seminars will include hands-on projects, field trips and guest speakers.

When:
July 9-August 2
Monday through Thursday
10 am to 12 pm

Where:
Rancho Cordova City Hall
2729 Prospect Park Drive, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670

How:
Application due by Friday, May 18th at midnight – Online

Qualifications:
Must be 13-18 years old
Must be a Rancho Cordova resident


INTERNSHIPS

What:
Approximately 15 interns will be hired through the City of Rancho Cordova.  Interns will receive hands on experience, work training and exciting opportunities to work alongside city leaders.  Internships are in a variety of departments including Public Works, City Manager’s Office, Communication Department, Neighborhood Services and more!

When:
July 10-August 2
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays
1 pm to 4 pm

Stipend:
$400 upon completion of program

Required Training:
June 25-June 29
10 am to 12 pm

Interview Dates:
Week of May 21st
Week of June 4th

ALL INTERNS MUST ATTEND THE REQUIRED TRAINING AND THE SUMMER SEMINAR
