Meet Max Vityk, a second year Youth @ City Council student and 2017 Rancho Cordova intern. Programs like Youth @ City Council and Summer @ City Hall give students the opportunity to learn about government systems and how they can make a difference in their community.
“I like that PRO allows me to get closer with my community.”
Last summer, Max interned for the City of Rancho Cordova and worked with the Neighborhood Services department for four weeks. While he was there he had the opportunity to see what officers do to help keep the city safe.
Working in Neighborhood Services, Max had the chance to directly help residents in his community by helping keep them safe. This department does a variety of work in the community including enforcing codes, keeping animals safe and ensuring that buildings are safe to be in.
During both Summer @ City Hall and Youth @ City Council Max had the opportunity to meet a wide range of people including fellow youth, city leaders and Rancho Cordova residents.
“I really like how PRO helps me get close with people may have never talked to.”
PRO has given Max had the opportunity to gain hands on work experience and make connection with those in his community. But most of all, PRO is proud to help students like Max find something that they’re passionate about.
