Rancho Cordova Vice Mayor Linda Budge joins PRO Youth and Families’ Youth @ City Council Program
Young people learn about the core values of democracy along with the inner-workings of local, county, and state governments.
PRO Youth and Families’ Youth @ City Council (Y@CC) students graciously welcomed Vice Mayor Linda Budge as a guest speaker at our January 24th session! Vice Mayor Linda Budge spoke to the students about the necessary steps the City of Rancho Cordova took in order to procure the necessary votes that allowed the city to become an incorporated city in 2003. Y@CC students learned a lot about government and politics from Vice Mayor Linda Budge, and are very much looking forward to the next session!
The Y@CC program is a 12-month civic education program designed to develop young leaders and foster their civic engagement through hands-on, practical experiences while utilizing real government and community opportunities and events. In Youth @ City Council, young people learn about the core values of democracy along with the inner-workings of local, county, and state governments.
The City of Rancho Cordova supports efforts involving the engagement of youth in its city, and through the Community Enhancement Fund, has funded PRO’s efforts to facilitate and execute this civic engagement program for the second consecutive year. Thank you the City of Rancho Cordova and to Vice Mayor Linda Budge, as none of this would have been made possible without your tremendous support.
Please reach out to our Civic Engagement Coordinator, Andrea Tafolla, by email at AndreaT@proyouthandfamilies.org if you are interested in PRO’s Y@CC program and would like to become a member of the class of 2018.
PRO Youth and Families’ January 24th Y@CC session had a great turnout!
